The Brainchild method
Be [in]credible
Be visible in the right places.
Be credible with the audiences and AI systems shaping decisions.
Be [in]credible is our proprietary method for building authority with humans and AI machines. It combines strategic placement, narrative control and earned validation to ensure your brand is present and persuasive wherever decisions are made.
We make sure your brand shows up where your audience is already paying attention, from trusted media and industry conversations to the AI systems shaping discovery and decisions.
What the heck is PR and communications?
Great question, and honestly, we get why people ask.
PR (Public Relations) is often misunderstood because it refuses to sit neatly in one box. Some days it looks like media pitching. Other days it’s internal comms, influencer strategy, content creation, events, reputation management, or crisis comms. PR doesn’t care about the channel. It cares about the outcome.
At its heart, PR is strategic communication. It’s how brands build relationships with their audiences — deliberately, two-way, and aligned with their bigger business goals.
But here’s the part the textbooks miss: PR builds trust. Not just attention, not just noise. The kind of trust that earns you credibility, makes your story land, and shapes what people say about you when you’re not in the room.
At Brainchild, we call it helping clients Be [in]credible. Showing up in the right places, saying the right things, and backing it up with actions that make people believe you.
What’s the difference between PR and marketing?
PR, or public relations and communications, is a discipline within the broader field of marketing. The key difference is that marketing focuses on generating leads and sales, while PR is about building brands by earning credibility and trust, supporting those leads and sales. Like ice cream enhances cake, PR makes your marketing efforts even more effective. Integrating both ensures your brand is both trusted and thriving.
What is Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned content [PESO]?
This is how we group the many channels we consider when developing our client strategies. We use The PESO Model© created by Spin Sucks to integrate paid, earned, shared, and owned media into a cohesive program that builds awareness, reputation, and credibility and, of course, delivers results.
Paid media: Think social ads, sponsored content, and email marketing — strategic spending to boost visibility.
Earned media: Classic PR—getting your story featured by media and influencers without paying for it.
Shared media: Social media interactions — everything from Facebook to TikTok, where your content gets shared and discussed.
Owned media: Content you control, like your website and blog — your platform to tell your story.
How do you measure PR and communications success?
First, we ensure we understand your business objectives (because otherwise, what’s the point?). Then, we set KPIs and measure the metrics that matter. We measure various indicators, such as backlinks, web traffic, reach, engagement, share of voice, key message penetration, sentiment analysis, and media impressions. We create a bespoke plan specific to your business and check in regularly to track success.
Can PR help with SEO [Search Engine Optimization]?
Yes, PR can significantly boost SEO. PR enhances your site's search engine ranking by securing high-quality backlinks through media coverage and guest posts. Additionally, effective PR campaigns drive increased website traffic, signalling to search engines that your site is relevant and authoritative. Consistent PR and communication activity improves your online visibility, making it easier for search engines to find and rank your content higher.
Why does earned media/media coverage matter for AI visibility?
Large language models like ChatGPT and Gemini prioritise trusted, third-party sources when deciding who to quote, cite, or recommend. Research from Hard Numbers found that 61 % of the content AI pulls from when forming opinions about brands comes from editorial and news outlets - not your company blog, not your LinkedIn post.
So, if your brand’s never being mentioned in credible places, it’s basically invisible to both people and algorithms. Earned media gives you authority with humans, credibility with machines, and a fighting chance of being part of the conversation.
Do we need public relations?
Absolutely! Effective PR and communications play a crucial role in managing your brand’s reputation, building credibility, and fostering strong relationships with your audience. These efforts help shape public perception, handle crises effectively, and complement marketing initiatives. PR also leverages media relationships for increased visibility and supports long-term brand building.
Why should I choose Brainchild?
Choosing an agency means you are getting experts who live and breathe PR and content every day. At Brainchild, we blend smart strategy with creativity. Our roots as earned media and communications specialists have honed our skill in crafting narratives. This expertise forms the core of our approach, allowing us to take these stories, integrate them with your marketing, and amplify them across the best channels. Unlike other agencies, we aren’t limited to just social media or earned media. We think of ourselves as channel agnostic, leveraging a mix of social media, earned media, and more to ensure your message resonates everywhere your audience is.
What kind of brands do you work with?
From unicorn startups to established legends, we work across corporate and consumer clients in retail, professional services, tech, property, lifestyle, beauty, health, education, retail and e-commerce. Get in touch, and let’s see if we gel.
Why does every brand need an AI and editorial policy?
In the past, those who produced content had journalistic standards to uphold, which meant (for the most part) you could trust what you were reading. Now, everyone’s a publisher. No printing press required. If you have a LinkedIn account, a Substack, or a smartphone with a decent signal, you’re in the content business.
But not everyone has standards. Or policies. Or even a second set of eyes before “send” gets pressed. An editorial policy is critical for earning trust. We wrote more about this in our blog: How trusted is your content? It will be with an editorial policy.

Because credibility is what turns visibility into revenue.

A short section of centred text as a rest break on the eyes. It would be best to be kept to not more than about three lines of text, as research shows long sections can become cumbersome to read.
