Launching a game changing new business

Changing the gifting game in time for Christmas

To change the way people gift, you need to tell the right story. That’s why when innovative new company Chuffed Gifts was ready to launch, they got in touch with us. Saying no to sad PDF vouchers and removing the ‘will they like it?’ uncertainty from gifting, Chuffed Gifts lets the recipient select an adventure from a selection of handpicked experiences. Plus, each Chuffed Gift comes presented in a recyclable tube to ensure giving and receiving a Chuffed Gift is (almost) as fun as the multitude of experiences contained inside.

Launching during a year where the New Zealand tourism industry was being hit hard by border closures was a great time to introduce Kiwis to a gift option that would get them exploring their own backyards. And launching in early November, the Chuffed tube was also in prime position to be marketed as the next best gift option right in time for Christmas.

Our job was not only to get Chuffed Gifts in front of Kiwis all over the North Island but to get them to consider gifting an experience rather than stuff. A targeted media approach that left no stone left unturned as well as content partnerships with key influencers helped Chuffed connect with the right consumers. With unique pitches targeting both the consumer and business stories of Chuffed Gifts, the Chuffed tube was talked about in more than 16 different New Zealand publications.

Featuring in the Sunday Star Times, Stuff (twice), Woman’s Day, Idealog, Capsule, Bay of Plenty Times, Rotorua Daily Post, My Wedding Mag, Stuff, and even a product placement on MORE FM’s Jay Jay and Flynny show, Chuffed is still being talked about in publications well into 2021. Combining the estimated reach from these features with the results from influencer Tarryn Donaldson’s campaign for the brand, more than 300,000 Kiwis have seen the Chuffed tube in print, online or in their social media feeds.

Most importantly, our launch efforts helped stimulate initial sales and establish Chuffed Gifts as a better gift voucher option in the New Zealand market. With plans to continue connecting with talented content creators, we know that more and more Kiwis will think of Chuffed Gifts when searching for a guaranteed-to-please gift option.
